He was predeceased by: his father John C. Shinn Jr.; and also Betty Shinn (Sexton). He is survived by: his wife Helen; and his siblings, MaryAnn Whalen (Michael), Patricia Martinson (Ken), Elizabeth Heilke and James Shinn.
The family requests any memorial donations be made to Illinois Cancer Care or Valley Chapel Church in Green Valley, Illinois, as John has requested.
