He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark G. Picken and Viola Picken (DeFrates); his brothers, Charlie, Frank, Tom, Bob and Edward Picken; his son Brian; and his nephew Daniel Roberts.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda L. Picken (Eggers); his brothers, Mannie Roberts (Carol) of Manito, Rick Picken of Manito and Max Picken of Manito; his children, Kelly Picken (Patia) of Manito, Kim Picken (Tara) of Morton, Craig Picken of Manito, Joe Iles (Jenny) of Lincoln and Melissa Echols-Sherry of Woodridge; his grandchildren, Chase Picken, Camryn Picken, Gage Picken, Harper Picken, Blair Picken, Amanda Picken, Jake Dean (Andrea), Jarrett Dean, Julia Dean, Grace Echols and Vanessa Sherry; and his great grandchildren, Pete Abel and Tenley Dean. He is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society to be put towards Prostate Cancer Research.
