He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl "Pete" Hampton and Nona Bell Layne (Lewis). He is survived by: his wife Pat Tomlinson; his children, Kevin Layne (Danielle) of Springfield and Lisa Thoron (Randall) of Girard; his stepchildren, Kent Allen (Debbie) of Jacksonville and Kelley Dunning (Roger) of Petersburg; and his siblings, Wayne Layne (Donna) of Peoria, Mark Layne (Rhonda) of Rushville, Phil Layne (Jill) of Rushville, Paul Layne (Martha) of Rushville and Patti Kette (Dennis) of Rushville. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren.
