He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Murdie and Rosetta Murdie; his father-in-law Dominic Bucciferro; and his siblings, Sandy (Doug Cullen), Sharon (Ralph Colvin), Gordon Murdie Jr. and James Murdie.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Murdie; his children, Angela Beasley (Brian), Joseph Murdie and Michael Murdie (Maralys); his grandchildren, Madison Keenan, Landon Beasley, Lilian Murdie and Joseph Murdie; his sisters, Peggy Nugent and Patricia Propst (Dave); his mother-in-law Lois Bucciferro; and his siblings-in-law, Audrey Murdie, Mary Kazier (Harold), Jim Bucciferro (Judy), John Bucciferro (Kathy), Joe Bucciferro (Sheri) and Robert Bucciferro (Paula). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful canine companion.
