He was predeceased by: his son Kevin Smith; his mother Marjorie Smith (Stauffenberg); his grandparents, Louis and Mildred Stauffenberg (McGuire); and his in-laws, Floyd and Mickey Daugherty (Owen).
He is survived by: his wife Lou Ann Smith (Daugherty); his children, Kimberly Smith (Hanksy), Kelly Smith (Brenda) and Kraig Smith (Pamela); his daughter-in-law Pam Smith (Wilke); his grandchildren, Bryna, Kylie, Lukas and Bodhi; and his brother Brad Smith. He is also survived by sisters-in-law; nieces; and nephews, as well as several close friends and neighbors.
