She was predeceased by: her parents, Ike Jacobs and Villo Jacobs (Henderson); her husband Ken; her children-in-law, Carol Nelson, Edward McCauley and Timothy Daley; and her grandson Carl Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Connie McCauley, Roger Nelson (Ann), James Nelson, Douglas Nelson (Lisa) and Robert Nelson (Dena); her grandchildren, Jennifer Megli (John), Rachel Lutz (Aaron), Jeremy Daley, Michael, Christine Taylor (Jon), Bradley Nelson (Shannon), Scott Nelson (Stacy), Keith Nelson (Danika), Emily Nelson, Thomas Nelson and Amanda Glass (Bryan); and her stepgranddaughter Rowena Murdoch. She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (511 Russell Rd, DeKalb, IL 60115). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb in memory of Irene Della Nelson.
