It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorraine Benner of Makanda, Illinois, born in Dubuque, Iowa, who passed away on September 27, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Parsons and Susan Parsons; her husband James Benner; her children, Michael and Patricia; and her siblings, Don, Ed Parsons and Carol Sue Crook.
She is survived by: her close friend Allan Stuck; her children, Thomas Benner of Austin, TX, Sue Benner of Makanda, IL and John Benner (Linda) of Naperville, IL; her grandchildren, Megan Schmitt (Jared), Jesse Meyer (Sindi), Amy Benner and Kendra Benner; and her sister Marilyn Proctor. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and cousins.
Memorials in Lorraine's name may be made to Boys Town or Easterseals Iowa and will be accepted at the funeral home.
