She was predeceased by: her parents, William Munnis and Ruby Munnis (Dunn); her husband Roy Kerkstra; her siblings, Darlene and David; and her great grandchild Wyatt.

She is survived by: her sister Judy Tippett; her children, James Andrew Jones (Susan), Thomas Scott Jones, Jayne S. Powell (Vincent), Mark W. Jones (Andra) and Susan K. Jones (Carolyn); and her grandchildren, Daniel, Jeremy, Molly, Emily Joyce, Joshua, Michael, Abe, Cole, Nick, Miranda, Krista, David, Travis, Christian and Emily Nicole. She is also survived by several step grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Joyce's name to the Champaign County Humane Society or Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Champaign County.
