He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert E. Grindley and Alameda Fern Grindley (Baker); and his siblings, Pearl'Skinny', Howard'Mick', Mike, Charlie, Harry, Lela, Lucy, Betty, Caroline and Peggy.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Grindley (Specht); and his children, Kathy Green (David), Vickey Roldolph and Herbert D. Grindley of Julie Quivey, OD. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
