He was predeceased by: his daughter Carol Powers; and his siblings, Gerald Schelling, Homer Schelling, Jim Schelling and Helen Jane Hemperly.
He is survived by: his children, Russell T. Schelling (LeAnn), Jonathan L. Schelling and Philip S. Schelling (Debbie); and his grandchildren, John Schelling, Jeffrey Schelling, Rani Newman, Mysti Robertson, David Schelling, Daniel Schelling, Caitlin Swinehart, Natalie Schelling, Priscilla Lee and Phylicia Schelling. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family members and friends.
