He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude E. Chandler and Naomi Chandler Unger (Owens); his son Ronald J. Chandler; his stepfather William Unger; and his brother Terry Lee Unger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rhonda Kerley (Jim Alvey) and Rebecca Betts (Michael); his grandchildren, Brianna Kerley, Leah Betts, Chandler Kerley, Emily Kerley and James Alvey III; and his siblings, Claudette Cremer, Kimberly Unger, Mary Willis, Sharon Scott, Debbie Webb, Robert, Richard Unger, David and Ricky Rudd. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.
