He was predeceased by: his mother Cynthia Ventress (Thornton). He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Elliott; his children, Grayson and Olivia of Macon; his father Gary Steven Ventress of Decatur; and his siblings, Stephanie Ventress of Decatur and Seth Ventress (Rachel) of Virden.

Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Springfield, IL.
