We bid farewell to Shirley Rose Ebey of Macomb, Illinois, born in New Salem, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 1, 2024 at the age of 97. Shirley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Ash and Nellie Ash (McDonald); her husband John E. Ebey; her siblings, Stanley, Sanford (Hazel), Garland Ash, Olive Louise Ash and Margaret Bryan (Royal); and her siblings-in-law, Beverly Ash (Stanley), Betty Ash (Garland), Harue Ebey (Robert), Royal Bryan and Robert Ebey.
She is survived by: her children, Steven John Ebey of Macomb and Tina Longmire (John) of Peoria, Illinois; her sister Athel Florine Ash of Macomb, Illinois; her granddaughter Eva Lauren Holeman; and her great grandchild Maggie Rose Sanchez.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Macomb Fire Department, with special designation towards Heroes Fund to assist child victims of fires.
