We are sad to announce that on November 7, 2024, at the age of 92, John Gilbert Carlberg of Macomb, Illinois, born in Monmouth, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert A. Carlberg and Opal G. Carlberg (Black); his wife Sara L. Riggins (Lantz); his brothers, Eugene E. Carlberg and James L. Carlberg; his nephew John D. Carlberg; and his great-nephew James D. Carlberg (Jake).
He is survived by: his sister Carol G. Carlberg of Roseville; his sister-in-law Linda Carlberg of Roseville; his nieces and nephews, James G. Carlberg (Abbey) of Springfield, IL, Joseph L. Carlberg (Janeen) of Plainfield, IL, Gena M. Reeves (Larry) of Leawood, KS, Lisa Carlberg of Eden, UT, Jill D. Hotchkin (Michael) of Joliet, IL and Jennifer J. Slater (William) of Sandy, UT; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Joseph, Kai, Freya, Glenna, Mathew, Alexandra Iverson (Calvin), Joshua (Kelsee), Jillian Glasgow (James), Claire, Sidney, Greta, Sophia, Layne, Josie, Bella, Beau and Lyla; his stepchildren, Jerry Riggins (Lynne) of Macomb, John Riggins (Barb) of Blue Springs, MO and Judy Witten (Barry) of Macomb; his stepgrandchildren, Andy Riggins (Holly), Lisa Hood (Steve), Carrie Green (Mike) and Emily (Brandon); his cousins, Tawny Matthews, Grant Riggins (Kristin), Drew Riggins, Laura Gottwald and Anton J. Tonelli (Claudia); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, Masyn, Sydney, Rachel, Maddie, Charlie, Mackenzie, Jaxon, Dalton, Lexie, Landon, Ali, Keagan, Landen, Grace, Ronan, Elizbeth, Anna and Peter; and also, Ian, Gavin, Bennett, McCoy, James and Iris.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home (303 E Washington St, Macomb, IL 61455).
