It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Elmo Bridgewater Sr. of Macomb, Illinois, born in Mount Sterling, Illinois, who passed away on October 14, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Coker; his brothers, Cleatis Mervin "Buck" Bridgewater and Ronald Albert Bridgewater; and his siblings-in-law, Clara Lou Bridgewater, Jeannie Bridgewater, Charlene Bridgewater, Ed Coker and Tuffy Young.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Bridgewater (Sharon) of Monmouth, Donnie Bridgewater, Jr. (Julie) of Andover, Maria Teel (Larry Cunningham) of Red Bluff, Eric Bridgewater (Teanne) of Green Bay and Melisa Thompson (Shane) of Macomb; his grandchildren, Kasi, Kevin, Krystal, Dylan, Caleb, Noah, Sarah, Candice, Christina, Michel, Nick, Aurora, Cindy, Sierra, Anthony, Hunter, Jenna, Morgan and Layne; his siblings, Clarence Merlyn Bridgewater, Marian Nadine Lambert (Dean), Gale Eugene Bridgewater (Kathryn), Mary Merreta Hufendick (Buster), Joseph Larry Bridgewater (Kathy) and Darrell Lynn Bridgewater; and his sisters-in-law, Pat Young, Cindy Hare (Jim) and Pat Coker. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
