With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ann Townsend of Machesney Park, Illinois, born in Rockford, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 1, 2025 at the age of 76. She was predeceased by: her father Frank Anthony Alfano (Dorothy) of Rockford; her grandparents, Rosaria "Rose" Cerniglia and Giovanni "John" Palermo of Italy; and her mother Mary Angela Alfano Venitelli (Donald). She is survived by: her children, Chris Kaeding (Dee), Rachel Speaker (Brian) and Becky Edwards (Greg); her spouse Knight; her son Michael Townsend Jr.; her grandchildren, Maiya Kaeding, Brandin Medearis, Marlee Barry (Al), Megan Walker (Nick), Hannah Myers, Jaylee Townsend, Jenna Townsend, Richard Speaker, Timmy Speaker, Jake Von Huben, William Speaker, Trevor Rathke (Kelli), Devin Burk and Darby Burk; her great grandchildren, Damien, Cameron, Kate and Alice; and her brother Larry Alfano (Mary Lou).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (1010 Ferguson St, Rockford, IL 61102).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Mary Ann's name to Beloit Regional Hospice.
