Lester Rothermel Obituary
The memory of Lester Rothermel of Machesney Park, Illinois, who passed away on December 29, 2024 at the age of 94, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Rothermel (Mother Celia Rothermel) and Celia Rothermel (Rae); his wife Sandi Rothermel; his siblings, Calista Hartman, Phyllis Ruter, Delmar Rothermel, Darrell Rothermel, Alan Rothermel and Harlan Rothermel; and his granddaughter Samantha Gilmour.
He is survived by: his children, Vicky Bray (Bob) of Altamont, IL, Nancy Gilmour (Pat) of Galesburg, Brian Rothermel (Karen Bentele) of Machesney Park, Cody Rothermel (Kristin) of Rock Falls, IL and Jason Berg (Kim) of Monroe, WI; his brother-in-law Dan Hartman; and his grandchildren, Timothy Gilmour (Kiley) of Danni Gilmour, JR, Erin Moffit (Josh), Rachel Wagner (Brent), Michael Rothermel, Ian Berg and Barrett Berg. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Polo Family Funeral Home (110 E Dixon St, Polo, IL 61064). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Polo FFA.
