She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Simms and Evelyn Simms (Farmer); her husband Walter "Buster" Mershon; and her sons, Roy Mershon and Larry Mershon.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Witthoeft (Brian) and Gary Mershon. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
