She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Johnson and Vernetta Johnson (Schwartz); her son Jerry Donald Pilgrim; and her sisters, Velma K. Buhlman and Frances Crossman.

She is survived by: her close friend Norma Haan; and her sister Ruth Johnson of Lyndon, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
