He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonnie Rae (Osborn) and James L. Young, Sr.; and his sister Sherri Young. He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Prudoel (Luke) and Jenny Young; and his sister Susie Phillips (John). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bayview Baptist Church in Washington.
