He was predeceased by: his parents, Irwin E. Schmidt and Charlotte Schmidt (Kajawski); his daughter Jill Duden; and his grandsons, Andrew Filson and Jake Loftus.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Winters of Lowpoint; and his children, Victoria Schmidt of Madison, WI, Jerome Schmidt of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie Brunelle (Shawn) of Crossville, TN and Jason Loftus of Leroy, IL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
