He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy W. Erb and Marie A. Erb (Krischke); his siblings, Harold, Dennis, Daniel and Valerie Jo; and his parents-in-law, Frank and Helen Long.
He is survived by: his wife Corinne Erb (Long); his daughters, Caren Messina (Ken) and Susan Erb; his grandchildren, Christopher Erb, Justina Kessling, Matthew Messina and Joseph Messina; his brother Bryan Erb (Tina Morely); his siblings-in-law, Carol Erb, Kathy Erb, Jane Erb, Sharon Long Mitchell, Frank Long, Daniel Long and Jim Long (Sadie); his grandchildren, Cali Haun and Aiden Bristol; his great grandchild Elyza Haun Cooper; and his friends, Mike Smith (Karen) and Dale Anderson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A reception was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the American Lombardi Club (209 Olive St, Rockford, IL 61107).
