With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karl R. Smith of Loves Park, Illinois, born in Muncie, Indiana, who passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Smith and Dorothy Smith (Gossett); and his brothers, Darrell Bowling, Brian Smith, Donald Smith and Robert Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle Chapman; his children, Anthony Smith (Jessica), Gillian Smith (Emily), Joshua Smith and Mitchell Smith; the mother of his children Jennifer Smith; his children, Jason Chapman (Heather), Branden Chapman (Tami) and Justin Chapman (Karen); his grandchildren, Emma, Kyle, McKenzie, Jaxon, Logan, Paytyn, Lily and Julia; his sisters-in-law, Kathy Bowling and Tanya Smith; his nieces, Melissa Uberto and Kylie Smith; and his nephew Trevor Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Rockford Chapter of the Marine Toys for Tots, a cause close to Karl's heart.
