He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schmaling and Mary Schmaling (Krueger); and his wife Marianne Sacco. He is survived by: his sisters, Sandi Kunz, Arlene Ward and Sally Carter; his sister-in-law Roseann Canova; his niece Kim Canova Ancona (Paul); his nephews, Joe Canova and Johnny Canova (Brianne); his great-niece Morgan Canova; and his great-nephews, Dominic Canova and Philip Canova.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
