He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tyler and Bonnie Tyler; and his grandson James Jarvis. He is survived by: his wife Reta Holliday; his children, Anita Korn (Pat), Richard Tyler and Becky Jarvis; his brothers, Tony Tyler and J. E. Tyler; and his aunt Doralee Adams. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
