He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; his parents, Reinhold Kusler and Annette Kusler (Jantz); and his siblings, Eyvonne Sloan and Lloyd Kusler.

He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey D. Kusler (Kathy) and Kyle D. Kusler (Sheila); his grandchildren, Stephen, MacKenzie, Cory and Whitney; and his sister Velma Schmidt of Oregon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
