He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Daugherty and Bessie Daugherty. He is survived by: his husband James McDuell; and his siblings, Anna Van De Verie, Retha Daugherty, Larry Daugherty, Clark Daugherty and Jim Daugherty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.
