He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Carlson and Mabel Carlson (Edberg). He is survived by: his spouse Irene Johnson; and his children, Barry Nelson (Deborah), Mark Nelson (Margie), Michael Nelson (Janet), Karen Samp (Jay) and Dawn Kruit (Jason). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren (oldest six are married) and two great-grandchildren.
