In loving memory of Stephen Welty Sr. of Louisville, Illinois, who departed this world on November 29, 2024 at the age of 77. Stephen leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Welty and Ruby Welty (Smith); and his siblings, Dr. Jack Welty, Patricia Pruitt, Jeannie Owens and Ruth Ann Welty.
He is survived by: his wife Ruthie Welty (McGilvry); his children, Stephanie Ahrens (Eric), Stephen Welty Jr. (Melissa), Christina Herzing (Mark) and Cheryl Teesdale (Roger); his grandchildren, Eric Kline, Tailor Kline, Kayla Herzing, Michael Welty, Christopher Ahrens, Norma Welty, Stacy Welty, Matthew Herzing, Mikayla Welty, Brooke Teesdale, Emily Ahrens, Daniel Welty, Nora Teesdale and Myla Teesdale; his sister Linda Boyd (Donnie); his sister-in-law Margaret Boles; his aunt Wilma Murphy; and his pet Rusty. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home (500 N Main St, Flora, IL 62839). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at the Rusk Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Stephen's name to the donor's choice of First Baptist Church of Louisville, the Shooting Stars Drill Team, or the Flora American Legion, and these will be accepted at the funeral home.
