He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit F. Freeman and Florence F. Freeman (Nagel); his grandson Austin Freeman; and his brothers, Roger, Robert and Ronald "Ronnie" Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Lou Jones of Paul's Lutheran Church; his children, Jolene Salz (Jon) of Tonica, Mary Engelhorn of El Paso, John Freeman (Darlene) of Lostant, Patty Bernardoni (Mike) of Lostant and Jeff Freeman of Leonore; his grandchildren, Cara Ludwick (Bruce), Erin Wilborn (Ethan), Ryan Salz, Caitlyn Engelhorn, Jimmy Engelhorn, Madison Freeman, Kayte Bernardoni (Austin Biagini) and Lauren Bernardoni; his great grandchildren, Henry, Audrey Ludwick, Lane, Reagan, Logan Wilborn and Lilah Freeman; and his siblings, Randy Freeman (Jenny Lawrence) of Lostant, Margie VanDeWyngaerde (Mike "Oscar") of Oglesby and Marilyn Loveland (Jim) of Spring Valley.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (1851 E 950th Rd, Tonica, IL 61370). A burial was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fairview Cemetery.
