He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Wesley Watkins and Elsie Watkins (Trimble); his son William "Bill" Watkins; his son-in-law Jon Gallagher; his brothers, Russel Watkins and Gene Watkins; and his grandson-in-law Erik "Junior".
He is survived by: his wife Wilma I. Loveland of London Mills; his children, Donald L Watkins, Jr. (Sharon) of London Mills, Mary Hirsbrunner (William "Perry") of Galesburg and Randy L Watkins (Michele) of Abingdon; his brother John Wesley Watkins (Vickie) of Galesburg; and his grandchildren, David Watkins (Tonya), Josh Hendricks (Norma), Kelly Sale (Jordan), Dawn Cadwell (John), Daniel Watkins and Erin Carder (Dillon Hovind).
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Abingdon Church of God of Prophecy (207 N Washington St, Abingdon, IL 61410).
Memorials may be made to the family for an organization to be decided later.
