He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Valorie Ford, Joe Gentile (Judy) and Rhonda Curry (Gary); his grandchildren, Brett Adkinson (Kristi), Dara Tuscano (Frank), Kris Gay (Ashley), Jenny Tillema (Mark), Mindy Smith (Brian), Ryan Curry (Liz), Frank Gentile, Robert Gentile (Emily) and Taylor Gentile; and his siblings, Lorraine Pietrandoni (late Nicholas), Anne Peitzmeier (late August), Nancy Gentile, Sandra Gentile, Edith Marchese and Anthony Gentile.

In lieu of flowers family asks for donations to made to "Beneath the Beard" (that would be the name on the check), or a notation with any gift. The organization is a strictly unpaid volunteer run nationwide organization of Veterans of War where 100% of donations go directly to Veterans suffering PTSD and their families' emergency needs no matter what that maybe...medicine, housing, transportation, food, clothing, etc. or to Journey Care Hospice, Pepper Family Hospice Care, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, Il 60010.
