She was predeceased by: her sister Janet Carrell; her parents, John Lanenga and Wilma Lanenga; and her siblings-in-law, Abel DeGroot (late Louise), Dirk DeGroot (late Henrietta), Amelien Dryver (late Martjo) and Peter Vanderveld.
She is survived by: her husband Paul DeGroot; her children, David (Ann) and Diane Dykema (late Mark); her sister Ann Vanderveld; her grandchildren, Rachel (Michael) of Waal Malefyt, Benjamin Dykema (Megan), Elizabeth Hozian (Robert), Amanda Thorson (Hunter), Ryan DeGroot (Emily) and Abigail Kelley (Teddy); and her great grandchildren, Lydia, Eliana of Waal Malefyt, Mark, Brooks Thorson, Josie Kelley and Eleanor DeGroot. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
