She was predeceased by: her parents, Algie Polson and Maggie Lorena Bolander Polson; her husband James L. Newlan; her daughter Charlotte Dighton; and her brothers, Harold and Theodore Polson.
She is survived by: her former husband Raymond Peterson; and her children, Algie Peterson of Stronghurst and Shirley Reynolds of Marion. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 39 great great grandchildren.
