He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd W. Sparrow and Bessie M. Sparrow (Burkiett); his siblings, Helen Hunter Pfieffer, Vera Mae Logan and Vernal Sparrow; and his daughter-in-law Traci Sparrow.
He is survived by: his wife Fern F. Welch; his children, Carla Williams (Don) of West Burlington, Lloyd E. Sparrow (Janie) of Ocala, Ann Brooks (Michael) of Crestview, Martin Sparrow of Dallas City and Byron Sparrow (Jennifer) of Stronghurst; his grandchildren, Adonica Gould (Michael), Lucas Sparrow (Kaylyn), John Sparrow (Stephanie), Chastity Heagerty (Steve), Marc Sparrow (Skye Moore), Bobby Sparrow, Danielle Sparrow, Monte Cole, Kaitlin McVey (Matt), Jacob Sparrow and Mitchell Sparrow; and his sister-in-law Jean Anne Sparrow of Salem, Iowa.. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home (504 E Main St, La Harpe, IL 61450). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund has been established for Oak lane Nursing and Rehab.
