It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Herod Sr. in Lockport, Illinois, who passed away on June 27, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Miles Herod and Bessie Herod; his stepmother Emma Herod; and his siblings, Elnora Smith, Inez Smith, Earmond Lee, Percy, James and Willie Herod.
He is survived by: his wife Daisy; his children, Johnnie Herod (Regina) of Joliet, IL and DeLinda Herod of Lockport, IL.; his grandchildren, Marlon Tanner of Ft. Worth, TX, Anthony Holman of Fishers, IN, Breana Herod of Lockport, IL, Alexis Herod of Plainfield, IL and Ronique Long of Lockport, IL; his great grandchildren, Nicholas Davis, Sidney Holman, Miles Holman and Kennedy Holman; his siblings-in-law, Ella Austin of Milwaukee, WI, Jeannie Austin of Chicago, IL and Dee Dotson of Louisville, MS; and his friends, Benny Williams and Jerry Robinson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
