It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John L. Rapcan Jr. of Lockport, Illinois, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on January 24, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father John L. Rapcan Sr.; and his brother Jim Rapcan. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Rapcan (Ware) of Lockport; his sons, Chris Rapcan (Christy) of Lockport and Sean Rapcan (Stacy) of Joliet; his grandchildren, Brooke and Brandi Rapcan; his stepgrandchildren, Chrystal Nero and Jacob Masters; his mother Phyllis Rapcan (Buttles) of Plainfield; his siblings, Karen, Mary (Mike), Tom (Beth), Tim (Carol), Dale (Sandy) and David (Kim); and his sister-in-law Shelia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet on Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 1:00 p. m. until the time of service at 3:00 p. m. Facemasks, social distancing, and capacity limits will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Bernie Mac Sarcoidosis Foundation or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
