Melissa Langford wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences to the family and friends of Jay. He was a great example of traditions, service, principles before personalities. I was privileged to get to know him, his story, and watch him carry the message the best he knew how. He cared a lot about the man who was still sick and making sure this thing we have that treats that sickness continues to be here for the next person to walk through the doors. He had a love for the archives and I just hope all he has cherished is protected and shared”
