Donald R. Podlesny Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald R. Podlesny of Lockport, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 12, 2025 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donald R. Podlesny to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Rae Podlesny (Nee Ward); his daughter Mary Therese; his parents, Raymond Podlesny and Minnie Podlesny (Nee Buffo); and his in-laws, John Brookman, Jeannie Webster (Ray), Michael Mancuso, Tom Smith (Marge) and Marie Ward.

He is survived by: his sons, Tom Podlesny (Susan) and Tim Podlesny (Lucy); his grandson Trey Podlesny; his stepgrandchildren, Ryan and Kelsey Hynes; his brother Jack Podlesny (Diane); and his in-laws, Shirley Brookman, Lillian Mancuso, Pat Orosco, Carol Clark (Harold), John Ward and Bob Ward (Kathy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel (1105 E 9th St, Lockport, IL 60441). A prayer was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Dennis Church (1214 Hamilton St, Lockport, IL 60441). A reception was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421). A burial was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

“Tim & Tom, We wanted you to know that we wanted to come up for your dad's services. He was such a wonderful man. Dave recently had full knee replacement - right knee & is still unable to drive. But we were planning on coming up for the visitation. Betty had the day off. But, a Dr appointment & therapy he isn't feeling well at all & in pain. Combine that with wicked weather rolling in we decided to stay home. Our deepest sympathy is with you. We loved both your parents.- dnb. Psm. 34”
