He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bartlett and Elizabeth M. Murphy Gaffney; his son Brian T. Gaffney; and his brothers, John R. and Joseph B. Gaffney.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa M. Gaffney of Loami; his sons, Patrick Gaffney (Kathryn) of Nokomis, IL and Michael J. Gaffney (Joanie) of Springfield; and his brothers, Louis (Katherine) of Crystal Lake, IL and Lawrence "Larry" Gaffney (Janet) of Springfield. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
