He was predeceased by: his parents, Adron O. Akers and B. Florence Vogler Akers; his siblings, Rachel Thomas and Gary Akers; his mother-in-law Thelma Thomas; and his sister-in-law Judy Wiseman.
He is survived by: his wife Rita L. Thomas; his daughters, Andrea L. Peters of Tracy, CA and Kimberly Kepple (Jeremy Payne) of Louisville, KY.; his grandchildren, Katalina, Roman Peters and Aspyn Rachel Kepple; his siblings, Calvin Akers (Dottie) of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, Joyia Hoyt (Duane) of Carthage, IL and Bonnie Mayall (Keith) of Plymouth, IL.; and his father-in-law Keith Thomas. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
