She was predeceased by: her parents, Steven Oliver and Violet June Mitchell (Clayton); her husband Hans R. Schmidt; her brothers, Robert Mitchell and Maurice Mitchell; and her stepgrandson Jordan Storm.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Schmidt (Sue Reynolds) of East Lansing, MI, Dean Schmidt (Debbie Hitchings) of Litchfield and Diane Stockamp (Murl) of Columbia, MO; and her grandchildren, Ryan Stockamp, Julie Bell (Stockamp), Laura Stockamp, Stephanie Haman (Schmidt), Lindsey Beaubien (Schmidt), David Schmidt, Travis Stephens, Troy Stephens and Samantha Brown. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no public showing.
The family suggests memorials be made to the National Ataxia Foundation.
