Arlene Hughes Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 6, 2020, at the age of 86, Arlene Hughes of Litchfield, Illinois, born in Gillespie, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Schmidt and Emma Stoecker Schmidt; her husband Charles Hughes; and her sisters, Mildred Duelm, Ruth Kennedy and Darlene Duelm.

She is survived by: her children, Dr. Loren Hughes (Anne) of Edwardsville, Allen Hughes (Tami) of Litchfield and Charlene Giannuzzi (Char) of Litchfield; her grandchildren, Erin Robbins (Tyler) of O'Fallon, IL, Jasmine Schietz (Bob) of Springfield, IL, Luke Hughes (Katie Nikirk) of Edwardsville, Rocky Giannuzzi (Kelsey) of Springfield, Kaitlyn Hughes (KJ Wolf) of Litchfield and Nathan Hughes of Litchfield; her great grandchildren, Layne and Lilah Robbins of O'Fallon, IL.; and her parents-in-law, Dale, Rosemary Hughes of Litchfield, Art Stoecker of Springfield and Lucy Hughes of Litchfield. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid restrictions, a graveside funeral service will be held at 1030am for immediate family members on Saturday November 14, 2020 at Elm Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Litchfield.
