Marie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Moody Ashley and Gertrude Ashley; her husband Doyle Dixon; her son Jim Gillespie; and her siblings, Betty Jean Hoover (Ralph), John Ashley (Sue) and Lois Carolyn Fletcher (Dick).
She is survived by: her children, Tom Gillespie (Joanne) and Kelly Sullivan (Mike); her grandchildren, Chelsea Craig (Tristan), Benjamin Gillespie, Ashleigh Kayser (Matt), Rachel Craig, Heather Bahrman (Peter) and Carley Zaho (Mirjan); and her siblings, Bob Ashley (Ann) and Margaret Ashley Hellrung. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
