He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles N. Lockenour and Ruth Lockenour (Shay); and his wife Nora Mae Lessen. He is survived by: his sons, David Lockenour (Nannette) of Lincoln and Thomas Lockenour (Kristan) of Lincoln; his stepchildren, Teri Schaefer (Steve) of Clinton, DeeDee Sanders (Bill) of Athens, Mike Shay (Brenda) of Hudson and Tim Shay (Mary) of Marysville, WA; his grandchildren, Leah, Rachel Lockenour, Megan Schaefer, Matthew Schaefer (Tracie), Erika Sipka (Justin), Chad Sanders, Natalie, Laura Shay, Ryan Shay (Euojin) and Kevin Shay; his great grandchildren, McKinleigh, Izayah, Kaydee Sipka, Brock, Mallie and Brandt Schaefer; and his stepgranddaughter Megan Schaefer.
Memorial donations may be made in Vernon's name to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or Safe Haven Hospice.
