She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Hamburg and Audrey Hamburg (Montgomery); her husband Franklin L. "Jack" Bartelmay Sr.; and her brother Don. She is survived by: her children, Franklin L. Bartelmay Jr., Tamera Klink (Brian) and Toni Gibbs (Greg Purviance); her daughter-in-law Denise Bartelmay; and her grandchildren, Jeff Klink (Lindsey), Kari Jajtner (Luke), Kristi Hensel (Matt), John Klink (Samantha), Ragan Thrasher (Michael), Lauren Campbell (Scott), Andrea Rieker (Joel), Nicole Bartelmay (Tim Price) and Nathan Bartelmay (Kayla Buss). She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in Shirley's name to Postville Courthouse.
