We are sad to announce that on May 29, 2024, at the age of 74, Joseph S. Schaler of Lincoln, Illinois, born in Indianapolis, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walt, Sr. Schaler and Catherine Schaler (Murt); his wife Melanie Boyer; his son Aaron Schaler; and his siblings, Walt Schaler, Jr., Bob Schaler and Margaret Schaler.

He is survived by: his daughters, Sara (Sam) of Nashville, TN, Emily (Aaron) of Fishers, IN, Katie Schaler of Raleigh, NC and Clair Schaler of Raleigh, NC; and his grandchildren, Fletcher, Leona and Wyatt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Illinois Veterans Commission or to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 159.
