“I didn’t know that my visit to him on Oct. 11 was the last time I’d see him alive but I’m glad I saw him that day in Grayslake. He looked very much at ease in his home recovery bed surrounded by myriads of blossoming orchids that must have reminded him of long gone days. I greeted him and gave him a hug, then we reminisce of our past. Then I casually mentioned that I really valued his loyalty to our friendship because of the favors that he afforded me when we were involved with the 7 Lakes.”
