He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; his son Joseph Beitzel (Ann); his grandchildren, Joseph Beitzel Jr. and Jennifer Anderson; and his siblings, Mary Hallgren, Francis Beitzel, Jim Beitzel, Bill Beitzel, John Beitzel and Robert Beitzel.

He is survived by: his children, Gail Akers (Wayde), Cheryl Anderson, Gwen Aquino (Gerry), Alan Beitzel (Roslyn), Jean Bratton (Les) and Karen Baldino (Don).
