Nanette Elaine (Fogel) Gubbins Obituary
Nanette Elaine "Anne" Gubbins (nee Fogel), 76, a longtime resident of Libertyville, IL, passed away on April 20, 2023, at Advocate Condell Medical Center. Born March 25, 1947 in Freeport, Illinois she graduated from Aquin High School in 1965. She earned an Honorary Bachelor of Science from the Loyola University of Chicago and had a successful career as a paralegal in Chicago.
Anne was deeply passionate and fiercely independent. She had a keen eye for fashion and a love of art, with numerous collections. She traveled to many places around the world. She married and became a devoted mother and homemaker.
Anne is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dr. Earl John Gubbins; her daughters, Sarah Alexandra and Charlotte Lynn; her dear sisters, Kathleen (Eugene) Rudy, Linda (Lynn) Zumdahl, and Gail Hunter; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer A. and M. Margaret "Peg" Fogel; her in-laws, Earl G. and Janet H. Gubbins; her sister Maureen T. Christen; and her beloved nephews, Timothy J. Wilson and Jory E. Rudy.
Anne instructed that all funeral services be held privately. Interment will be at Ascension Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were handled by McMurrough Funeral Chapel in Libertyville. Anne will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
